Asian options and meromorphic Lévy processes

چکیده
One method to compute the price of an arithmetic Asian option in a Lévy driven model is based on the exponential functional of the underlying Lévy process: If we know the distribution of the exponential functional, we can calculate the price of the Asian option via the inverse Laplace transform. In this paper we consider pricing Asian options in a model driven by a general meromorphic Lévy process. We prove that the exponential functional is equal in distribution to an infinite product of indepedent beta random variables, and its Mellin transform can be expressed as an infinite product of gamma functions. We show that these results lead to an efficient algorithm for computing the price of the Asian option via the inverse Mellin-Laplace transform, and we compare this method with some other techniques.

Pricing Discretely Monitored Asian Options under Lévy Processes
We present methodologies to price discretely monitored Asian options when the underlying evolves according to a generic Lévy process. For geometric Asian options we provide closed-form solutions in terms of the Fourier transform and we study in particular these formulas in the Lévy-stable case. For arithmetic Asian options we solve the valuation problem by recursive integration and derive a rec...
متن کاملEfficient Pricing of European-Style Asian Options under Exponential Lévy Processes Based on Fourier Cosine Expansions
We propose an efficient pricing method for arithmetic and geometric Asian options under exponential Lévy processes based on Fourier cosine expansions and Clenshaw–Curtis quadrature. The pricing method is developed for both European-style and American-style Asian options and for discretely and continuously monitored versions. In the present paper we focus on the European-style Asian options. The...
متن کاملApplying the Wiener-Hopf Monte Carlo Simulation Technique for Lévy Processes to Path Functionals
In this note we apply the recently established Wiener-Hopf Monte Carlo (WHMC) simulation technique for Lévy processes from Kuznetsov et al. [22] to path functionals, in particular first passage times, overshoots, undershoots and the last maximum before the passage time. Such functionals have many applications, for instance in finance (the pricing of exotic options in a Lévy model) and insurance...

متن کاملPricing bounds and approximations for discrete arithmetic Asian options under time-changed Lévy processes
We derive efficient and accurate analytical pricing bounds and approximations for discrete arithmetic Asian options under time-changed Lévy processes. We extend the conditioning variable approach to derive the lower bound on the Asian option price and construct a sharp upper bound based on the lower bound. We also consider the general partially exact and bounded (PEB) approximations, which incl...
